Nineteen BW students participated in the "Ghana Beat: The Drums of Tradition and Change" study abroad program, a transformative three-week learning experience in Ghana, West Africa, during the spring 2017 semester. The program provides opportunities for students to learn about the nation's political and legal systems as well as music, dance and traditional practices.
A total of 11,101 students enrolled during the 2017 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

The Ashland University Football Team travels to Michigan Tech this Saturday, Nov. 8, for a 1 p.m. game that will determine which team will secure a spot in the NCAA Division II Playoffs.
The Ashland University football team competes in NCAA Division II in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). The Eagles are led by head coach Lee Owens, now entering his 11th season. The Eagles play their home games in Jack Miller Stadium/Martinelli Field on the Ashland University campus. The Eagle football team, which finished last season at 5-5 and 5-4 in the GLIAC, hopes to return to the top of the GLIAC with a mixture of veterans and new faces in key positions.
